The company ABB s.r.o. (Ltd.), organization unit Elektro-Praga, is a leading producer and supplier of house wiring accessories in the Czech Republic and in the Slovak Republic and it is a part of the global concern ABB. Its history goes back to the 19th century, when the company produced mainly Art Nouveau lighting fittings. The house wiring materials (switches, sockets, etc.) became the main part of the production as early as at the beginning of 20th century. The company currently produces six series of products with different design solutions – Classic, Tango®, Time®, Element®, Neo®, Swing® and Swing®L – within the production program. The ABB company has received various recognitions and awards for these products during the last years. The products are also evaluated positively by our customers.

We recommend observing the interior design development during the proposal preparation, but it is not obligatory.

Parameters of the design solution

  • For embedded mounting into VDE wiring boxes – spacing of mounting holes for screws - 60 mm.
  • Modular assembly (frame, cover, instrument). Horizontal as well as vertical amounting of instruments into multiple boxes with maintaining of switching logic. Spacing of instrument centres 71 mm must be observed for horizontal and vertical multiple frames.
  • The solution must enable utilization of instruments of the Promoter – switches from the series 3559, socket from the series 5519 and multiple sockets from the series 5513, possibly from the series 5512. Basic dimensions (height, depth, etc.) are available for upload at  www.20design11.cz.

  • The frame must cover the edges of wiring boxes KU 68-1901, KP 67/2, KU 68LA/1 (with maximum diameter 73 mm, manufacturer Kopos Kolin, www.kopos.cz) with edging for mounting into plasterboards.
  • The solution should also take into account the hygienic aspect of the product (excessive dirtiness, dust deposition, etc.).

Recommended materials and their combinations for the products are thermoplastic materials, thermoplastic materials with surface treatment, glass, and metal with surface treatment (according to the introduced production technology). The design is intended for all types of buildings of housing construction and civic amenities and it is intended for the markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
